The Marine Algae Guard Index (MAGI) is a freely available electronic
database containing detailed information about small molecules metabolites
found in the marine algae. It is intended to be used for applications in
metabolomics, chemoinformatics, and general education. The database is
designed to contain or link three kinds of data: 1) chemical data, 2)
geographical origin, and 3) biological data such as cytotoxic activity.
Each Algal entry contains more than 27 data fields and all data are
taken from original research articles. Many data fields are hyperlinked to
other databases like Pubchem, Chemspider and Pubmed. The Database can be
searched using the accession number, SMILES, InChI, compound name or seaweed
name. The search engine is provided by SWMD server. The database contains
more than 300 metabolite entries from red, green and brown marine algae.
